EXPERIENCE
Vishal Ahuja is the Corrigan Research Professor and an Associate Professor of Information Technology and Operations Management at the SMU Cox School of Business. He also serves as adjunct faculty at UT Southwestern Medical Center and on the advisory board of TraumaCare.AI.
Vishal develops decision-analytic tools designed to improve patient health, care quality and the efficiency of healthcare delivery. His research collaborations include the Department of Veterans Affairs, Parkland Hospital, Baylor Heart Hospital and Children’s Hospital. His work has been cited by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, and he has received the Dlin/Fischer Clinical Research Award and D CEO’s Outstanding Healthcare Innovator award.
Prior to joining SMU, Vishal was a National Institute on Aging Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Chicago. Earlier, he held engineering and project-management roles in the chemical, manufacturing and consumer-goods industries, including at Procter & Gamble.
EDUCATION
Vishal received an M.B.A. and a Ph.D. in Business Administration from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, an M.A.Sc. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Toronto and a B.E. in Chemical Engineering from Panjab University.
