EXPERIENCE

David Witzke is the founder, Managing Partner and Chief Investment Officer of Everlong Capital, where he manages a research-driven equity strategy focused on healthcare and biotechnology. He also serves as Chief Executive Officer of Everlong Capital Management, a single-family office.

Prior to founding Everlong Capital, David co-founded Avidity Partners and served as Chief Investment Officer and co-managing partner as the healthcare-focused fund grew to more than $4 billion in assets. Earlier, he spent more than eight years as a healthcare portfolio manager at Surveyor Capital, a Citadel business, after working as a biotechnology analyst at Ridgeback Capital and in senior equity research roles at Bank of America Securities, SunTrust Robinson Humphrey, Morgan Stanley, Credit Suisse First Boston and Salomon Smith Barney.

David began his career as a senior research engineer in Cargill’s biotechnology division, where he worked on polylactide manufacturing. He has authored scientific publications on bioprocess modeling and is a co-inventor on more than ten industrial biotechnology manufacturing patents.

EDUCATION

David received an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School and a Ph.D. and B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Michigan State University.
