EXPERIENCE

Peter Bisgaard is a Managing Director at Pivotal Life Sciences and Managing Partner of Pivotal bioVenture Partners in San Francisco, where he focuses on venture capital investments in life sciences.

Prior to joining Pivotal in 2017, Peter spent 16 years at Novo Holdings and Novo Ventures, ultimately as Senior Partner. As a member of Novo’s senior team, he was responsible for overall investment and portfolio strategy and the continued development of its U.S. venture team.

Peter’s investment and board experience spans public and private life sciences companies, including Ra Pharma, Nevro, Alder Biopharmaceuticals, MapLight Therapeutics, Engrail Therapeutics and Addition Therapeutics. Earlier, he was a consultant in McKinsey & Company’s Scandinavian Corporate Finance and Strategy Group.

EDUCATION

Peter received an M.Sc. in Engineering from the Technical University of Denmark and a postgraduate degree in Mathematical Modelling in Economics from the European Consortium for Mathematics in Industry.
